Education and Training
The CSC Training Institute supports the interdisciplinary training of educational and mental health researchers to fuel the innovations and dissemination needed so all children can benefit from effective programs and practices emerging from scientific research. The Training Institute sponsors continuing education activities for psychologists, educators, and mental health professionals, and offers training in evidence-based prevention and treatment programs.
Training Interdisciplinary Educational Scientists
The CSC Training Institute supports the inter-disciplinary training of educational sciences through Penn State’s TIES program. The TIES program is funded by the Institutes for Educational Sciences and is designed to prepare a new generation of scientists who can design and evaluate initiatives that blend social-emotional learning with traditional academics, and enhance the literacy and social-emotional learning skills of at-risk students.
Training in Evidence Based Prevention and Treatment Programs
Designed for intervention scientists, psychologists, social workers, advanced graduate students, and educators, the CSC Training Institute sponsors continuing education presentations, annual workshops, and sponsors training in evidence-based parenting programs, the REDI program and the Friendship Group program.
