The Training Institute at the Child Study Center

The Child Study Center Training Institute is a collaboration of the CSC and the Penn State Psychological Clinic. Its mission is to promote improvements in mental health care for children, youth, and families by supporting translational research aimed at enhancing the adoption of evidence-based practices in school, clinic, and community settings.

The CSC Training Institute functions to support research, synthesize and share existing knowledge, provide training and consultation, and serve as a resource for other researchers, schools, practitioners, and organizations to better address the mental health needs of children, youth, and families.

CSC Translational Research

Collaborative partnerships with schools, families, agencies, and community organizations support translational research at the CSC, designed to inform practice and promote better outcomes for vulnerable children, youth, and families. Focal areas of translational research include programs for parents, social competence training programs (Friendship Groups), and school-based social-emotional learning programs.
